First It Was Spongebob

A couple weeks I wrote about a gay alert was put out by some religious group on Spongebob Square Pants. Now, parents are to be warned about Shrek and his buddies. And the kicker is that they say nothing about those folks in Springfield.

Now luckily for me I have yet to see the second (and more evil and gayifying) movie in the series, so I have not been bombared by Shrek's secret gay bomb.

But Lou and Andrea, and the rest of their friends at the Traditional Family Values Coalition want to rid the world of all filth in the media, and for you to give them lots of money so they can watch all the films so you don't have to. And before you give to them, be sure to find out when their traditional family values come from. Was it the time when women were considered property? When slaves were common?

Now, I'm getting sick of christian(and I'm using the lower case on purpose)groups who go around telling us all the evil in the world. Where are the groups who are going around praising the good in things? Where are the people following the words of Philippians 4:7-9? I wonder what a better place if we, as Christians, promoted the films that had great moral values, encouraged the musicians that had lyrics that spoke about the wonders of life, and attended theater that caused people to think on the good of society?

And if we were really honest, about 95% of all movies and television does not match up 100% to the Bible. And a good amount of the 5%, just stink. But if you have a brain that works, know how to use some judgement and a can visit a few websites like Screen-It or RottenTomatoes, you can decide which shows and movies might be worth seeing.

Just tossing my two cents out there today.
